Shopify App Store Tracker: live rankings and change history

Daily rankings of Shopify discount and wholesale apps and the categories that sit next to them, with the rank, rating, review and pricing history nobody else keeps. Currently following 1,864 listings across 14 categories.

Last updated: July 25, 2026

Tracked daily

A crawl spread across each morning captures the leading apps in every category we follow, a few requests at a time.

History kept

Every snapshot stays, so the rank charts and change timelines only get richer over time.

Free and public

No login and no paywall. This is the same data we watch ourselves, published as it is.

Rankings by category

The first two are the categories Discount Prime competes in, read 240 apps deep. The rest are the categories those same apps also list themselves under, read 120 deep: not our market, but the one next door. A count below is how far we read, not how big the category is, unless it says otherwise.

Rank movement

The day-to-day churn. Biggest moves shown; every position lives on the category pages.

Discount Prime is one of the apps in these rankings

We build a Shopify discount and B2B pricing app, and we appear in this data at whatever position we actually hold. Volume discounts, BOGO, free shipping bars and wholesale pricing run from one campaign system, with a free plan to start.

Questions, answered plainly

What is this tracker?

A daily record of the leading apps in the Shopify App Store categories we follow: their position, rating, review count and pricing, kept as history so you can see how listings move over time. The order shown is the App Store's own default order for each category, not a ranking or an award of ours.

Why these categories?

Discounts and Wholesale are the two Discount Prime competes in, and those are read 240 apps deep. The rest were chosen by the apps rather than by us: every App Store listing declares its own categories, and these are the ones the apps we already track also appear in, which makes them the map of what sits next to a discount or wholesale app. They are read 120 apps deep. Where a count on this site is our reading depth rather than the size of the category, it says so.

Where does the data come from?

From the public Shopify App Store category and listing pages, collected by a clearly identified crawler that waits several seconds between requests, pauses regularly, and stops for the day if the App Store ever asks it to slow down. The work is spread over a morning rather than done in one burst. We store facts only: rank, rating, review counts, pricing plan names and prices. We never republish review text or listing descriptions.

How often does it update?

Once a day, every morning. Each page shows the date of the capture it is built from, so you can always tell how fresh the numbers are.

Why does Discount Prime publish this?

We build a Shopify discount and B2B pricing app, so we already track these categories for ourselves. Merchants and app developers kept asking for the numbers, so we publish them. Discount Prime appears in the rankings like any other app, at whatever position it actually holds, highlighted only so you know which row is ours.

What happens when an app drops out of the ranking?

Its history stays, and we go and find out why before saying anything. The same day an app disappears from a ranking we re-read its App Store listing: if the listing is gone the app was removed from the store, if the listing no longer carries that category its developer moved it and the rank was never lost, and if neither is true it genuinely slid out of the positions we track. Coming back is recorded as a return rather than as a new entrant. A gap in a chart means the app was outside the window on those days, not that it left the App Store.
